Ding Ding TV Report – Registrar of Voters’ 2024 Media Day
On Wednesday Oct. 16th, members of the media and public were invited to attend the County of Santa Clara Registrar of Voters’ (ROV) Media Day event. The event was be held to inform the media, as well as voters about what to expect in the November Presidential General Election, how to vote at a Vote Center, voting options, and what measures are in place to ensure a safe and secure election.
“Our mission is to ensure fair, inclusive, accurate and transparent elections for our voters,” said Matt Moreles, Acting Registrar of Voters. “We are especially proud of our efforts to make voting more accessible than ever before.”
A mock Vote Center was be set up inside the office atrium and a live demonstration held to highlight accessible services for seniors, voters with disabilities, and voters who primarily speak a language other than English. An ASL interpreter was present to assist those who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Attendees could tour the office to observe various election processes, explore large-scale county maps, or visit the information table to learn about the ROV’s “Go Green” and “Future Voter” initiatives.
Acting Registrar Moreles presented an overview of election highlights and joined by Assistant Sheriff Rich Urena who spoke on public safety.
