Ding Ding TV interviewed Yurina Melara Valiulis at Ethic Media Conference & Expo & Awards

Yurina Melara Valiulis, MS, Ph.D. is a media communications strategist with over 20 years of experience in journalism and media relations. Currently, she serves as the Multiethnic Press Secretary for the Office of Community Partnership and Strategic Communications at the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research. She is an award-winning journalist who has worked on multiple TV shows in Los Angeles as a talent and producer and as a public health reporter for La Opinion from 2005 to 2015. An advocate for equity and representation in media, Yurina volunteers for the Central American Film Festival and the Public Relations Society of America Los Angeles Board of Directors. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two children, and three cats.

With over 300 entries, 40 finalists and 22 winners, this year’s awards ceremony at the Sheraton Grand in Sacramento brings together a “who’s who” of the ethnic media sector celebrating each other’s work and concludes a two-day Conference and Expo hosted by California Black Media and Ethnic Media Services.
