Announcing the 2024-2025 AA Stories Video Contest – “My Gift to America”
Dear AA Stories Community,
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the 2024-2025 AA Stories Video Contest! Building on the tremendous success of last year’s contest (72 entries, a dynamic awards ceremony, and a significant impact on the Bay Area’s Asian American communities), we’re excited to embark on a new chapter.
This year’s theme, chosen with your valuable input, is ‘My Gift to America’. It celebrates the unique contributions Asian Americans make to the fabric of our nation. While we have considered ‘Coming to America’ and ‘Model Minority’, ‘My Gift to America’ perfectly complements and continues last year’s theme, ‘All Of Us Belong Here’.
To further inspire your creativity, we’ve included a poem by Joel Wong titled Americans of Asian Heritage.*
Key Dates and Information:
• Contest rules remain largely unchanged, with minor adjustments based on last year’s experience.
• Please review the rules on our website: https://aastories.org/
• Diana Ding and Joel Wong will be reaching out to you in the coming weeks to gather your feedback to refine the contest details.
• We will post the details on our website
• We need your help to heavily advertise and solicit contestants from September to the end of 2024
• We will accept video entries from January to March, 2025
• The Awards Ceremony will be on May 1, 2025 at the same site in Milpitas, CA.
