Lily Qi is a Maryland State Delegate representing Montgomery County in the Maryland General Assembly.
Lily Qi was born in Shanghai, China and migrated to Indiana where she attended Manchester University. Duringher decade of service in Montgomery County government, she focused on improving government cultural competency and economic standing.
Lily Qi was the first Asian American appointed Assistant Chief Administrative Officer. In her role, she worked on developing global partnerships and led a series of strategic initiatives including establishing BioHealth Innovation, Inc. and the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation and building a national award-winning integrated business portal to grow the economy and make it easier to do businesses in Montgomery County.
In 2018, she won the general election with 23.6 percent of the vote, becoming the first Chinese-born state legislator in Maryland.
