Ding Ding TV interview with Cassy and Alex, an interracial transgender couple
On April 16th, Bay Area Municipal Elections Committee (BayMec) hosted their 2023 “Progress Never Stops” brunch in San Jose. The keynote speaker at the event was San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria.
Ding Ding TV interviewed Cassy Friedrich and Alex Filippelli, who are an interracial transgender couple. They spoke to Ding Ding TV about what it means to them to be transgender, about their relationship, discrimination, and the importance of access to health care. Cassy and Alex also spoke about some of the misinformation public has about LGBTQ community and how can our system and policies can protect their community.
The Bay Area Municipal Elections Committee (BAYMEC) is a four-county lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) political action committee (PAC). It has been advocating for the civil rights of LGBTQ people since 1984. It is the only political action committee dedicated to this purpose in the central coast counties of San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey. BAYMEC is governed by a Board of Directors and is supported solely through private contributions.
