For seven years, self-taught aspiring filmmaker Jason Lin has been producing videos for academic studies, fundraisers, documentaries, and school events. In 2020, together with fellow filmmakers Amar Karoshi and Sara Yen, Jason created “Cmd-Del: Technology’s Damaging Effect on Democracy” which won the C-SPAN Vision 2020 Grand Prize. Jason was in 11th grade at Harker; and he is joining Stanford University this Fall.

The environment, discrimination and inequality, gun deaths and the freedom to bear arms, health and healthcare, immigration. The 2020s opened up to America’s youths with challenges that would make the Hunger Games seem like Minecraft. Understanding their fears and nurturing their hopes are probably the most important topics of discussion of our moment.
Young filmmaker Jason Lin will share his experience and perspectives to kick start our conversation.
