Dr. Xiaoyan Zhang
Dr. Zhang is a sociologist, entrepreneur, data scientist, and community activist. He was
the CEO of KIT Solutions® LLC, a computer software company providing data-driven
decision support service in the field of substance abuse prevention (1996 – 2014).
Appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, he served on the
National Advisory Council for NIDA (National Institute for Drug Addiction) between 2007
and 2010. Currently, Dr. Zhang serves as a senior business adviser to 3 start-up
companies in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and augmented
reality. He is also leading a data-driven decision support project funded by CDC for
combating the Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) crisis.
Dr. Zhang advocates for political participation of the AAPI community and published
many articles on civic engagement
