National Leadership Academy
Overview
The APAICS National Leadership Academy (NLA) is a three-day leadership training event for current elected officials, individuals seeking to run for public office, and community stakeholders. The program consists of interactive political training with topics ranging from developing your campaign plan, communications, digital organizing, power mapping, and fundraising.
The National Leadership Academy was established in 1999 to provide Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) elected officials with the skills and resources needed to excel in their current office as well as prepare them for opportunities to advance into higher office.
Curriculum
The NLA consists of interactive leadership training with special guest speakers. A detailed breakdown of trainings will be provided closer to the start date. Sessions include:

Base building and outreach

Fundraising strategies and tips
Dates
The NLA will take place July 16-18, 2021.

Participants must commit to attending each session to complete the program.

Each training day will last 3-4 hours.

Trainings will begin mid-afternoon (Eastern Time) to accommodate multiple time zones.
Location
The NLA will be conducted online. Virtual tools such as Zoom will be used.
Cost of Attendance
There is a small fee of $25 to attend the academy. If you are unable to pay the $25, scholarship options are available.
