SAN MATEO COUNTY “COMMUNITIES UNITED” RALLY

The Communities United Rally is organized by community members, civic leaders and volunteers, working together, from all over San Mateo County. The lead organizers of Communities United are Anders Fung (Millbrae City Councilmember), Billy Pollina (Community Organizer and Filmmaker), Anthony Leung (Community Organizer), Lilian Chang (Student Organizer).
During the rally, we will demonstrate against the violence, desecration, and dehumanization of marginalized communities and work together to initiate real actionable change that will lead to a more safe and inclusive society throughout San Mateo County. The May 15th event kicks off our plans for continued efforts to unite all communities and all cities in San Mateo County to work together in the future toward inclusivity, financial equity and community safety.
Initial Action Items Include:
1. Together with city council members throughout San Mateo county, we will announce and unveil a proclamation that was adopted throughout San Mateo County cities including, Millbrae, San Mateo, Brisbane, Burlingame, Colma, Daly City, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Hillsborough, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Carlos, South San Francisco.
2. San Mateo County Sheriff Carlos Bolanos will also be announcing the creation of a high-ranking sheriff position as AAPI community liaison.
