2020 NCLF- Celebrating the Release of Asian Americans Docuseries with Chinese Subtitles
The release of Asian Americans docuseries in the month of APIA heritage month (May) was a landmark event of 2020 for AAPI community as well as for general audience. With the endorsement from PBS, Dr. Xiaoyan Zhang and Cathy Huang initiated a project to translate the film into Chinese and add Chinese subtitle to the film so Chinese community in the U.S. and in the world can watch the docuseries with native language.
Over 30 highly skill language professionals volunteered time to participate in this effort. After more than 2 months dedication and hard work, the project is successfully completed with high quality and professionalism and is now ready for the debut of Asian Americans docuseries with Chinese subtitles.
PBS executive director for Asian Americans Docuseries, together with participants of the project will share their thoughts and reflections on the significance of this project to Chinese American community. A student from Yale University is also invited to share young generation’s perspective on the importance of Asian Americans documentary film.
A trailer of the film with credits will be shared at the celebration. YouTube links for all five episodes with Chinese subtitles will be shared at the event.
