LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS
CLUSA joins Relief Bay Area Task Force and SEIU-UHW Partnership to distribute 20,000 Masks to Frontline Healthcare Workers
San Mateo, CA (July 3, 2020) – To support and appreciate our frontline healthcare workers in the time of COVID-19 pandemic, they hosted a press conference on July 3, 2020 (11 am Pacific Time) at 2655 Campus Drive, Suite 120, San Mateo, CA 94403.
The Relief Bay Area Task Force is announcing the donation of 20,000 masks for essential healthcare workers in the Bay Area. Healthcare speakers will present the challenges they continue to face in having enough personal protective equipment (PPE) to do their essential jobs, such as providing free clinic services to low-income and uninsured individuals residing in Alameda and San Mateo Counties. The four selected organizations receiving the face mask donations are Kaiser Oakland and Alta Bate Summit of East Bay, the Samaritan House and the San Mateo County Health Foundation.
CLUSA is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization incorporated in Washington DC in 2013. Our main objectives are to empower and organize the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) communities, to create a national network of civic-minded organizations and leaders and work in unity. The principal activity of CLUSA is to sponsor Civic Leadership Forums and Public Service Internship program aimed at training APIA to participate in the political process and our civic life.
COVID-19 Relief Bay Area Task Force has been raising money in the Chinese community to purchase personal protective equipment in China and have it shipped to the Bay Area for use by front-line workers and those most vulnerable to COVID-19.
“Alameda County has over 5762 cases while San Mateo County has over 3141 cases and being protected in the hospitals and clinic is very important. Grateful to Relief Bay Area Task Force and our Chinese community for this continues effort of PPE donation. Thank you for the partnership with SEIU-UHW and sharing our love to our neighbors,” said Sandy Chau, Founder & Chairman of CLUSA.
