Barry Chang currently serves as the Mayor of the City of Cupertino, where he has a record of keeping promises and accomplishing goals. Having served eight years on the Cupertino School Board, Barry is the only candidate who has helped manage a world-renowned school district. With an open and independent mind, Barry listens to his constituents. His experience, leadership, and vision make him the best candidate for State Assembly District 24.
Barry Chang ran and was elected for a seat in the Cupertino School Board in 1995 and was reelected in 2003. He has also served four years on the Cupertino Public Safety Commission. In 2009, Chang was elected to the Cupertino City Council. In 2014, Chang was re-elected to Cupertino City Council with the position of Mayor. On Dec 1, 2015, Chang was unanimously selected by his city council to become the mayor of Cupertino, California. His current term as the mayor of Cupertino, California will end in 2018.
